Happy Birthday -- times 5!

Today at work, we celebrated the birthdays of five co-workers. As the "resident card maker", I was asked to make the cards for the ladies. I tried to design the cards based on their individual personalities, and these are what I came up with:

This first one was made using the retired Create a Cupcake stamp set and coordinating (not retired) punch, Cupcake Builder. You could easily switch out the stamp set with the current Cupcake Party stamp set (although the sentiment would be different). The colors used are Blushing Bride card base, cupcake top), Whisper White (card base), So Saffron (cupcake bottom and ribbon), and Melon Mambo ("sprinkles" on the cupcake).

________

The second card uses the Celebrate Today stamp set with the coordinating Balloon framelits. The polka dots on the card base were made with sponge daubers. The colors are all retired in colors (2012-2014): Raspberry Ripple, Summer Starfruit, and Gumball Green. I used these colors because they reminded me of the recipient!

The third card was made using the Papillion Potpourri stamp set with the coordinating Bitty Butterfly punch. The strips were embossed with the Lovely Lace embossing folder, and the sentiment is from the Four You stamp set. The colors are all of the retiring 2013-2015 in colors: Strawberry Slush, Crisp Cantelope, Coastal Cabana, Pistachio Pudding and Baked Brown Sugar. These inks are no longer available, but some of the paper is still available on a "while supplies last" basis. Of course, these colors could be substituted with just about any other colors, but these matched this recipient's personality to a "t"!
I will post directions for this card later this week.

I absolutely loved this fourth card, and it was just perfect for the recipient. For this one, I used the Butterfly Basics stamp set, the Flower Shop stamp set with coordinating Pansy Punch. The flower was stamped with embossing ink and then embossed with white embossing powder. The background was was embossed using the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder. The colors I used were Island Indigo and Garden Green. (I liked this design so much that I made it for my mother and mother-in-law for Mother's Day using Primrose Petals instead of Island Indigo. The card took on a totally different feel with the different colors!)

The last card was made for a woman who is a phenomenal cook. She's always bringing in homemade goodies, so a card with a cake on it seemed just perfect for her. The stamp set is the Big Day set that was available during the 2015 Sale-A-Bratation event. The cake was embossed using Blushing Bride embossing powder. The background is from the Butterfly Basics set. I used Whisper White craft ink for the images. The colors are Basic Black and Blushing Bride.

It was a challenge making five different cards for five very different ladies -- especially when they were all going to be opening them at the same time!! I'd love to know which you like best! Leave a comment if you can!
