The Sky is the Limit

This is the third set we made at class last weekend.  The stamp set is available as a FREE item during Sale-A-Bration with a $50 order.  It is only available until February 15, so hurry and get yours before it's gone forever!

This is the card closed:

(You really can't see the seam between the two layers, it just looks that way from the way the card is placed in the picture.)

This is the card open:

The background is Cajun Craze.  It was cut at 4 1/4 x 11 and scored at 5 1/2".  Then I trimmed off the top half of the card to make the partial opening.  The first layer is Marina Mist, cut at 5 1/4 x 4.  The Whisper White layer is cut at 5 x 3 3/4.  It was sponged to make the clouds and then cut in half with one half going on the outside flap and the other in the inside.  To make the clouds:  punch out a mask using the 2 3/8 " scallop punch.  Position the mask randomly around the white and sponge the edges using soft sky ink.  Before attaching the sponged white piece to the front, layer it on a piece of Marina Mist.  After I stamped the plane, I punched out a 1/2" circle from vellum paper, attached a gray brad to the middle and then attached it using a glue dot.  Glueing it down with the "legs" of the brads behind it, gives the propeller dimension and it looks like its lifted away from the plane.

I heard through the grapevine that Dave the Die Guy will soon have a coordinating die for the plane. I can't wait for that . . . lots of possiblities!  Contact me if you'd like info about Dave the Die Guy.
