Pleated Skirt Card

This is the last card we made at the DSP  class last weekend.  Although the pleat looks complicated, it actually wasn't at all.  (**A fellow demo (Pam Berry of Cards by Pam) recently shared some instructions on how to make this vertically with many more pleats.  I'll be making one of those REAL soon, so be sure to check that out soon!)

The card base (4 1/4 x 5 1/2) is Soft Sky.  I cut a second piece of Soft Sky in the same size and embossed it with the Modern Mosaic folder.  The "ribbon" is Calypso Coral, as is the scalloped oval.  The large oval is Very Vanilla.  The sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set. The DSP is the retired Everyday Enchantment.

To make the skirt:  cut a piece of DSP 2 x 12.  With the paper horizontal on the score board, score at 4, 4 3/4, 6 1/4, 7, 8 1/2, and 9 1/4.  Keeping the paper horizontal, make a tick mark on the bottom of the paper at 4.  Make another tick mark along the right side 1" down from the top.  Connect the two lines and cut, making a diagonal cut.  Pleat on the folds.  After you affix it to the card front, trim any excess.  Isn't that simple???
