Day 30 of 30 Days of New Catalog Projects - Jar of Love

Wow, it's Day 30 already!  Where did the month go???  I've enjoyed sharing projects with you during this month showcasing some of the new products from the new catalog, and I do hope that you've enjoyed them as well.

So, here is the last project.  It showcases the new Jar of Love set and the coordinating framelits, Everyday Jars.

The card base is Crumb Cake; the middle layer is Whisper White, and the card front is Whisper White.

I stamped the jar in Basic Gray first. then I stamped the flower stems and greenery in Pear Pizzazz.   Before I did any other stamping, I sponged the card front with So Saffron.  The flowers are stamped with Pink Pirouette.  Both layers are the same color, but the second layer looks darker since it was stamped ink on ink.  I stamped them directly onto the card front as well as onto a piece of scrap paper that I die cut out and pop dotted.  I like to do that so there is no  white space behind the raised image.  I stamped the burlap strip in Early Espresso onto a piece of scrap paper and then fussy cut it out.  Next I stamped the bow in So Saffron and die cut it out as well.  At the bottom corner, I stamped a little greenery in Pear Pizzazz and then stamped and die cut one of the tiny flowers.  Finally, I stamped and die cut the bee.  I stamped it in Basic Black and colored it in with  Daffodil Delight marker.

Card stock:  Crumb Cake, Whisper White
Stamp Set: Jar of Love
Ink:  Basic Gray, Pear Pizzazz, Pink Pirouette, Early Espresso, Basic Black
Marker:  Daffodil Delight
Framelit: Everyday Jars

I'd love to hear your feedback on these past 30 days and the projects I've posted.  What stamp set was your favorite?  What project did you like best?

As always, I'm happy to answer any questions you may have on any of these projects and I'd be happy to help you with any product needs as well.

Day 29 of 30 Days of New Catalog Projects - Something Fishy

Today's project features the new set, Jar of Love.  It has a coordinating framelit set, but I didn't use it today.

The card base is Thick  Whisper White.  The middle layer is Crushed Curry, and all the stamping is done on Whisper White.  This card has some masking and embossing as well as stamping.

The first thing I stamped was the water in Pool Party.  Then I stamped another image of water on a piece of scrap paper to make a mask.  I masked the stamped water and then stamped the table over it.  I used the hardwood background set in Soft Suede.  I sponged the table lightly with Soft Suede.

Next I did all the embossing.  I stamped the jar in  Versamark and heat embossed it with Pewter Embossing Powder (retired).  The next two images stamped were the fish and the bow.  Both were stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with Crushed Curry embossing powder (retired).

I added a couple rhinestones to represent bubbles.  Top background is lightly sponged with Soft Sky.

Lastly, I stamped the sentiment -- also from the same set.  It was punched out with a 1" circle punch.  A little ribbon adds some more texture.

Cardstock:  Thick Whisper White, Crushed Curry, Whisper White
Stamp Set: Jar of Love, Hardwood
Ink:  Crushed Curry, Pool Party, Soft Sky, Versamark Embossing, Soft Suede
Punch: 1" circle
Embossing Powders (retired) Pewter, Crushed Curry

Only one more day of new catalog projects . . . where did the month go?????? I hope you stop by tomorrow to see the final project!

Day 28 of 30 Days of New Catalog Projects

Today's project once again features the new Birthday Banners set.  I just love this set, and I foresee many, many cards being made with it!  Again, I used colors from the Brights Collection.  I decided not to use a birthday sentiment on the card because it  can easily be used for other occasions with the "It's Your Day" sentiment instead.

The card base is Tempting Turquoise, and the main card base is Whisper White.  The three panels are Tangerine Tango, Tempting Turquoise and Real Red.  The balloon strings are DMC embroidery floss.

Cardstock:  Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White, Tangerine Tango, Real Red
Stamp Set: Birthday Banners
Ink:  Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White, Tangerine Tango, Real Red
Ribbon:  Real Red (retired)
Balloon Strings: DMC embroidery floss

There's only two more days left of new projects for the month.  I hope you will come  back tomorrow to see another project.

Day 27 of 30 Days of New Catalog Projects - Happy Retirement

I made this card for a co-worker who recently retired.  It features the new stamp set, Mixed Drinks.  I don't know about you, but if I were retiring right before the summer, my work-free days  would certainly be filled with some fancy looking drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, wink-wink!)

The card base is Thick Whisper White covered with a piece of DSP from the new Painter's Palette DSP stack.  The colors of the drinks are three of the new In-Colors -- Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach, and Sweet Sugarplum (although it photographed more purple-y than it really is).  The washi tape is from the new Playful Palette washi collection.  The sentiment is not an SU stamp -- believe it or not, I didn't have an SU retirement stamp!

Cardstock:  Thick Whisper White, Very Vanilla, Peekaboo Peach
Stamp Set: Mixed Drinks
Ink: Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach, Sweet Sugarplum
Other:   Playful Palette Washi Tape

The month is winding down, and there are only a few more days of projects left in the 30 Days of New Catalog projects. Please come back tomorrow to see another project!

Day 26 of 30 Days of New Catalog Projects - Lot 'o Candles!

Today's project features the new Birthday Banners stamp set as well as the coordinating Bunch of Banners Framelits.  The card also uses the Bright Color Collection which is just perfect for a cheery birthday card.

The card base (Daffodil Delight) is embossed with the Polka Dot embossing folder.  The candles are stamped in this order:

Melon Mambo, Old Olive, Tangerine Tango, Bermuda Bay, Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, and Rich Razzleberry.  They are stamped on Whisper White mounted on Rich Razzleberry. The flames are Daffodil Delight

The banner is stamped in Rich Razzleberry with Tempting Turquoise and Melon Mambo words.  It was die cut with one of the dies from the Bunch of Banners Framelits.

Cardstock: Thick Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry
Stamp Set: Birthday Banners
Ink:  Melon Mambo, Old Olive, Tangeerine  Tango, Bermuda Bay, Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight
Framelit:  Bunch of Banners

Although there was a lot of stamping (and cleaning of stamps!) here, I think it is so well worth the effort!

Please come back tomorrow for another day of new projects!

Day 25 of 30 Days of New Catalog Projects - Birthday Wishes

I made this card for my mother-in-law's birthday last week.  It uses the new DSP, Painter's Palette, as well as the Artist's Palette set.

The card base is Blushing Bride, and the two side strips are from the Painter's Palette DSP stack.  The center panel is Very Vanilla.  I cut a square of Whisper White and stamped the flowers from the Numbers of  Years set i Wild Wasabi and Blushing Bride.  I added a few pink pearls to the centers.   I stamped the frame from the Artist's Palette in Soft Suede on Crumb Cake.  I also did the thumb tack in the same colors.  I fussy cut the tack and pop dotted it so that I could wrap the Very Vanilla thick twine.  The frame is also pop dotted.  The sentiment is from the retired Four You set.

Cardstock:  Blushing Bride, Very Vanilla, Whisper White, Crumb Cake
Stamp Sets:  Artist's Palette, Number of Years, Four You (retired)
Inks:  Blushing Bride, Wild Wasabi, Soft Suede
Paper:  Painter's Palette DSP
Other: Very Vanilla Thick Twine, pink pearks (non SU)

Please check back tomorrow for another project!

Day 24 of 30 Days of New Catalog Projects - Good Bye Card

Today's card was made for a co-worker who has decided to start a new adventure in her employment. This card was made using the new Touches of Texture set as well as the Better Together set for the sentiment.

This card was rather simple to make.  Just a little stamping, a bit of washi tape and some thick baker's twin and a mounted sentiment, but it sure looks like it took more than that!

I first stamped the splatter in the middle of the card in Crushed Curry.  Then I stamped the flower in Real Red and Wild Wasabi.  I attached a piece of washi tpe from the Beach House collection (retired) and tied a piece of thick twine in Pool Party.  The sentiment is stamped in Real Red onto Whisper White and then mounted onto Real Red cardstock, and VOILA - done!

Cardstock:  Pool Party, Whisper White, Real Red
Stamp Sets:  Touches of Texture, Better Together
Ink:  Real Red, Wild Wasabi, Crushed Cury
Washi Tape: Beach House (retired))
Other:  Thick Baker's Twine in Pool Party

I'd love to see your cards that look more  complicated than they really are!

Please come back tomorrow for another project.  It's hard to believe we're approaching the last week of the 30 Days of New Catalog projects.  I still have so many cards to make!

Happy stampin'!

Day 23 of 30 Days of New Catalog Projects - Sweet Cupcake

I just love today's project -- probably because I love cupcakes!  This new set, Sweet Cupcake, makes "delicious" looking cupcakes, don't you think.  It is a three-step stamp and has a coordinating die set.

The card base is Flirty Flaming, with a thin layer of Whisper White.  The card front is Blushing Bride, embossed with the Polka Dot embossing folder.

To make the cupcake base, I stamped with (1) Tip Top Taupe, (2) Crumb Cake, (3), Sahara Sand -- in that order.  The top of the cupcake is stamped with (1) Flirty Flamingo, (2), Blushing Bride, and (3) Pink Pirouette.

Doesn't it look yummy???

As always, I'm happy to answer any questions you have about this project or about any others.

Happy Stampin'!

Day 22 of 30 Days of New Catalog Projects - A Very Special Layout

Today's project has just a touch of a new product in it -- the frame from the Artist's Palette set, and a sentiment/banner from Thoughtful Banners.  I entered this layout  in a "food" challenge at scrapbook.com.  This layout has a story of it's own, which is journaled on the back of the page.

You  see, I always host Christmas dinner, and my mother always makes the homemade pasta for the meal-- after she hosts a very large Christmas Eve dinner the night before.  It's a wonderful tradition that everyone looks forward to.  Although she makes pasta frequently, having homemade manicotti or ravioli for Christmas dinner is always a special treat.

This year was a bit different.  Mom was at the lowest point in her illness and her treatments were really kicking her butt.  When it came time to plan the Christmas dinner menu, I told my husband that we would have to forego the homemade pasta and stray from tradition because mom clearly could not do it, and I was just too busy with the holiday hustle and bustle and taking care of mom, on top of working full time.  I just didn't have it in me.  My gem of a husband stepped up to the plate and said not to worry -- he  would help me make the pasta so we could have as normal a Christmas dinner as possible for my mom, hoping it would cheer her spirits.  Hubby worked the third shift the night before and come home from work at 8:00 a.m.  He wasted no time when he came home in helping me roll out and fill the manicotti.  We had left over pasta and he took it upon himself to make it into spaghetti so we could have it on hand for a quick dinner when needed.  Of course, mom was so touched that her son-in-law made the pasta for her -- and it did meet her approval.  Yup, he's a keeper!

Fortunately, mom made a great turn around, and is getting better every day. She's even made homemade pasta for her special son-in-law a couple of times!

When I was at CKC a few years back, I saw the paper with the pasta and the rolling pins on them.  Being Italian, I just knew that I would have occasion to use it eventually -- and I sure did!

I used the frame from the Artist's Palette set -- stamped in Delightful Dijon (which looks just like the color of homemade pasta) on Whisper White.  I die cut the frames using the new square framelits.  The frames were placed on the layout to highlight what was important --  hubby at work, and the two types of pasta he made.  I tied a small bit of Delightful Dijon lace ribbon on the sides of each of the frames.  For embellishments, I used some retired washi tape from the Epic Day collections to make a corner frame for the pictures.  I also stamped the word "Fabulous" from the Thoughtful Banners set, punched out with the Duet Banner and placed that near hubby's picture.

Cardstock:  Calypso Coral, Whisper White, Very Vanilla
Stamp Set: Artist's Palette, Thoughtful Banners
Ink:  Delightful Dijon
Punch: Duet Banner
Framelits: Squares
Washi Tape: Epic Day (retired)

Please check back tomorrow for another project!

Day 21 of 30 Days of New Catalog Projects - Birthday Balloon

Today's project is a fun birthday card.  It uses the Birthday Banners stamp set.

The card base is Watermelon Wonder, with a middle layer in Whisper White.  The card front is also Whisper White.  I randomly stamped the polka dot balloons from the Birthday Banner set using So Saffron, Mint Macaron, and Watermelon Wonder.

To make the candle, I stamped the candle image in the set twice - it's a short candle, and I wanted a longer candle.  I stamped it in Watermelon Wonder, and the flame is Daffodil Delight. I mounted the candle on a piece of So Saffron that I made a banner out of using the Banner Triple Punch.

The sentiment and banner also come from the Birthday Banners set -- the banner in Mint Macaron and the sentiment in Watermelon Wonder.  I die cut the banner using the coordinating Bunch of Banners framelits.

Cardstock:  Watermelon Wonder, Whisper White
Stamp Set: Birthday Banner
Framelit:  Banner Triple Punch

I really like this combination of colors and think they're perfect for a birthday card!

Be sure to check back tomorrow for another project.

Day 20 of 30 Days of New Catalog Project - Balloon ATC

It's the 20th of the month, so that means it's time for my monthly ATC post.  ATCs (Artist Trading Cards) are little works of art that measure 2 1/2 x  3 1/2.  I join a mnthly ATC swap at scrapbook.com, and one of the categories this month was Balloons.  What a perfect time to showcase the new stamp set, Birthday Banners.

I used the polka dotted balloon from the set to make this bunch of balloons.  The colors are Watermelon Wonder, Pool Party, and Pear Pizzazz.  To make the bouquet, I had to do some masking.   The first balloon stamped was the center Watermelon Wonder one.  Then I put a mask over that one (I made the mask by punching out the small balloon from the Balloon Bouquet punch) and then stamped the blue balloon on the left, and the green balloon on the right.  Then I masked the three balloons, and stamped the second blue one.  Next, mask the second blue one and the front green one, and stamp the watermelon one on the right.  Last, I masked both of the blue ones and stamped the top green balloon.

After all the balloons were stamped, I made the strings with the thin side of the Basic Black Stampin' Write marker.  I stamped the banner with the Thoughtful Banners set and punched it out using the Duet Banner punch.  Of course, I needed to add some finishing touches, and added some Pool Party Thick Twine and rhinestones.

Cardstock:  Watermelon Wonder, Whisper White
Ink:  Watermelon Wonder, Pool Party, Pear Pizzazz
Stamp Sets:  Birthday Banners, Thoughtful Banners
Punch:  Duet Banner
Other:  Rhinestones, Pool Party thick twine

I hope you will give ATCs a try.  I'm sure once you do, you'll be hooked!

Come back tomorrow for another day of new catalog projects!

Day 19 of 30 Days of New Catalog Projects - Textured Congratulations

Today's project features the new Touches of Texture set and is made with a cool technique.

The card base is Thick Whisper White; the middle layer is Peekaboo Peach, and the card front is Whisper White.  To make the block where the images are stamped, I inked the acrylic blocks in varying sizes to get the textured look.  The top block is  Peekaboo Peach, the middle is Pink Pirouette, and the bottom one is So Saffron.  The images are all from the Touches of Texture set, and the sentiment is from the Guy Greetings set.  The addition of washi tape from th Painter's  Palette adds nice detail.

Cardsock:  Thick Whisper White, Peekaboo Peach, Whisper White
Stamp Sets: Touches of Texture, Guy Greetings
Ink:  Peekaboo Peach, Pink Pirouette, So Saffron
Other: Painter's Palette Washi Tape

This was a quick card to put  together and I just love the acrylic block technique!

Please check back tomorrow for another project from the New Catalog.

As always, I'd be happy to answer any questions about this project or any other projects.

Day 18 of 30 Days of New Catalog Projects - Friendship

Today's project features the new set Artist's Palette. At first I wasn't going to order this set because it reminded me too much of the Work of Art set, but I'm glad I did.  Although I'm not nuts about the sentiments in the set, I like all the potential of the other components.

Stamp the easel on the card front, Attach the washi ape, and randomly stamp the specs around the frame.  Stamp the sentiment in the middle of the easel.  Then stamp another easel on a piece of scrap paper.  Using the new square framelits, die cut the inside of the f

Tip:  After you stamp the  frame and easel on the card front, attach the washi tape and randomly stamp  the specs.  Otherwise, if you stamp the specs first, they will show through the washi tape.

Cardstok:  Sweet Sugarplum, Crumb Cake, Whisper White
Stamp Set: Artist's Palette
Ink: Crumb Cake, Sweet Sugarplum

Other:  Painter's Palette washi tape

Day 17 of 30 Days of New Catalog Projects - New In Colors

Today's project features the new 2016-2018 In Colors - Peekaboo Peach, Flirty Flamingo, Sweet Sugarplum, Emerald Green and Dapper Denim.  It also uses words from the new stamp set, Thoughtful Banners.

The stripes were made with the Work of Art stamp set.  I stamped off once so that the color would be coordinating punch.

Cardstock: Dapper Denim, Whisper White
Ink:  Dapper Denim, Peekaboo Peach, Flirty Flamingo, Sweet Sugarplum, Emerald Envy
Stamp Set:  Work of Art, Petite Petals
Punch:  Petite Petals

Day 16 of 30 Days of New Catalog Projects - Sitting Here

This is one of the cards we made at my catalog kick-off last weekend.  Actually, it's a bit different - the sample I had at the class accidentally got some ink on it, so I remade the card and made a couple modifications!  This card uses the new Sitting Here set.  Most of the colors, except for the sun, are from the 2-15-2017 In Colors

The first image stamped is the swing.  I did that on purpose so when I stamped the tree, the leaves would look like they were over the ropes on the swing.   The tree is stamped with the Sheltering Tree set in Cucumber Crush.  The sun is sponged with Daffodil Delight, and the sky is sponged with Soft Sky.  The grass is is sponged lightly with Cucumber Crush and then the grass image from the Sitting Here set was stamped over it.  The bird is stamped in Marina Mist and then colored in with Soft Sky marker.  The bench is colored in with Tip Top Taupe Marker, and the cushion is colored in with Watermelon Wonder marker.  The pillows are stamped with Mint Macaron and then softly sponged with Mint Macaron and punched out with the 3/4" circle punch.  I added tiny pearls for the look of buttons.

Cardstock:  Tip Top Taupe, Watermelon Wonder, Whisper White
Ink:  Cucumber Crush, Daffodil Delight, Soft Sky, Marina Mist, Mint Macaron
Markers: Soft Sky, Tip Top Taupe, Watermelon Wonder
Stamp Sets:  Sitting Here, Sheltering Tree

Lots of stamping and inking, but I think well worth it!

I hope you are enjoying the 30 Days of New Catalog Projects so far; be sure to check out tomorrow's post for another card from the kick-off party!

As always, I'm happy to answer any questions you have about this project or any other.

Day 15 of 30 Days of New Catalog Projects - Lighthouse Visit

Since today is the 15th of the month, it's Monthly Scrapbook Layout day, so I used the Swirly Bird Stamp set on my layout.  The layout is also entered into a challenge over at scrapbook.com.

I love lighthouses, and my patient husband amuses me as I drag him from lighthouse to lighthouse.  Last summer I booked us for an overnight stay at the Borden Flats lighthouse in Fall River, MA.  What an experience that was!  We had the entire lighthouse to ourselves in the middle of the water.  The views were breathtaking, and it was so very, very peaceful.  The pictures in this layout are of the lighthouse as we were approaching it by boat.

I used the boat from the Swirly Bird set at the bottom right corner of the layout, and the lighthouse from the From Land to Sea set in the upper left corner.

Cardstock:  Whisper White, Real Red, Dapper Denim
DSP:  International Bazaar (retired)
Ink: Real Red, Dapper Denim
Stamp Sets:  From Land to Sea (lighthouse), Swirly Bird (Boat)
Punches:  Circle, Scallop Circle (retired), Scallop Edge (retired)

I love being able to mix my love for Stampin' Up stamps with my first love of scrapbooking!  Which do you do more of??

Be sure to check back tomorrow for another day of New Catalog Projects!

Day 14 of 30 Days of New Catalog Projects - Friends Card

Today's card features the new stamp set "Sitting Here".  I've really enjoyed playing with this set, although it's not one that I would normally jump to purchase.  I'm not real big on coloring, and every stamp in this set calls for coloring!

To make the background paper, I used the stamp that is the square pillow and made a (not so straight) pattern.  Even though the squares are not perfectly lined up, I kind of like the look of them being a bit off.  I used Daffodil Delight for the squares.  The dog is stamped in  Early Espresso and colored using the blender pen and Soft Suede.  The cat is stamped in Basic Black and colored using the blender pen and Basic Gray.  The basket is stamped in Delightful Dijon and colored in using the blender pen and Daffodil Delight.

I stamped the basket directly onto the paper.  I stamped the cat and dog onto scrap paper and then fussy cut them out.  I made a little slit in the basket and tucked the dog into it so it looked like he was actually in the basket and not just floating on top of it.  I pop dotted the cat so he actually looked like he was outside of the basket.

Carstock:  Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White
Stamp Set:  Sitting Here
Ink:  Early Espresso, Soft Suede, Basic Black, Basic Gray, Delightful Dijon, Daffodil Delight
Ribbon:  Cherry Cobbler Chevron (retired)

I  was a bit out of my comfort zone with this one, but I do like the end result.  What do you think?

As always, I'm happy to answer any questions about this project or any other on my blog.  Be sure to check back tomorrow for another project.

Day 13 of 30 Days of New Catalog Projects - Touches of Texture

Today's project is another sympathy card.  Seems like when I have to make one, I have to make a few!  This card also fit in nicely with the Pals Paper Arts Sketch 304 Challenge.  Check it out here.

This is the sketch that the card is based on:

I decided to go with the 2015-2017 In Colors for the pallette for this card.

Cardstock:  Tip Top Taupe, Watermelon Wonder, Very Vanilla
Ink:  Watermelon Wonder, Mint Macaron
Stamp Set: Touches of Texture

Day 12 of 30 Days of New Catalog Projects - Sympathy Card

Today's project is a sympathy card using the new Touches of Texture and Better Together stamp sets.   I can see myself using Touches of Textures A LOT!

This card was made for the Case This Sketch Challenge #176.  Check it out here. There is a new sketch posted every week.

This is my take on the sketch:

The background was done by putting stamp on an acrylic block and applying it to the paper.  I just tapped the block onto the stamp pad and then put the paper on the block instead of putting the block to the paper.  That way I got much better coverage.

This is the sketch it was based on:

Cardstock: Thick Whisper White, Whisper White, Peekaboo Peach
Ink:  Peekaboo  Peach, Pumpkin Pie

Day 11 of 30 Days of New Catalog Projects - Get Well

Today's new catalog project is a get well card done for the weekly challenge over at Global Design Project.  The timing was perfect because my daughter came home last week and told me she needed a get well card for a co-worker!  I used the new stamp set Sitting Here.

I kept it simple because that's what my "customer" wanted.  It doesn't show up really well in the picture, but the swing is embossed with pewter embossing folder.  The card base is Calypso Coral, the middle  layer is Whisper White, and the card front is Whisper White as well.

First I stamped the swing with Versamark embossing ink and then sprinkled the Pewter embossing powder over it and heat set it.  Then I sponged the sky in Soft Sky and the grass in P ear Pizzazz.  The sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set (retired) and stamped in Calypso Coral.  The ribbon is Calypso Coral seam binding (retired).

Cardstock:  Calypso Coral, Whisper White

Day 9 of 30 Days of New Catalog Projects - Playful Pallette Birthday

Today's project showcases three new products -- the Playful Pallette DSP stack, the Artist's Pallette stamp set and the Layering Squares Framelit.  This card is based on the Freshly Made Sketch #240.

This is the sketch that I based the card on:

I  wanted to play off the tiny splotches of black in the DSP so I mounted the strips of DSP with Black as well as mounting the stamped image.  I happened to have some brads in my stash that matched the Sweet Sugarplum perfectly!

Cardstock:  Basic Black, Very Vanilla
DSP:  Playful Pallette
Inks:  Sweet Sugarplum
Stamp Set:   Painter's Pallette
Other:  Brads that were in my stash

As always, I'm happy to answer any questions  about this project or any other.  Just click on the "Contact Me" tab above!

Be sure to come back tomorrow for another project.  Actually, tomorrow is the 10th of the month, and that means I'll be posting my monthly Inspiration Sheet -- one of the projects will feature a new product!

Day 8 of 30 Days of New Catalog Projects - Happy Birthday

Today's project is based on a sketch from the Case this Sketch weekly blog challenge.  It showcases three of the rolls of washi tape in the new Playful Pallette washi tape.

This is my card:

and this is the sketch it is based on:

The card base is Emerald Envy. I made the card front background by randomly stamping the dots from the Painter's Pallette stamp set (also new!) with the five new In Colors.  I attached the washi tape to whisper white strips and then attached them to the card.  The sentiment is from the Perfect Pairings stamp set from Sale-A-Bration.  I die cut the sentiment with the Chalk Talk Framelits (retired).

Cardstock:  Emerald Envy, Whisper White

Day 7 of 30 Days of New Catalog Products - Playful Butterfly

True to my word, today's project does not feature the new Swirly Bird set.  This card features some DSP from the Playful Pallette Stack as well as the new Sweet Sugarplum ruched ribbon.

The card base is Sweet Sugarplum. I stamped along the right side in Sweet Sugarplum using the Watercolor Wings set.  Then I cut a piece of DSP from the  Playful Pallette stack the same size as the card front (4 1/4 x 5 1/2); then I cut in about 2 " from the right halfway down the side.  I turned the flaps outward to make the "collar" and adhered them to the front. I wrapped a piece of ribbon along the left hand side into  a knot.  I used the Watercolor Wings stamp set to make the butterfly.  The butterfly is a three step stamp set -- the first layer is Blushing Bride, the second is Sweet Sugarplum, and the third is Emerald Envy. I die cut the butterfly using the Bold Butterfly thinlit.

I just love the color combination on this piece of paper, don't you?

Be sure to check back tomorrow for another project!

Day 6 of 30 Days of New Catalog Projects - Love Kite

Okay, if you can bear one more card using the Swirly Bird stamp set, here it is.  I promise to take a break from that stamp set and showcase some other new products beginning tomorrow!

This card would be perfect for a wedding, anniversary or Valentine's Day . . . or just to tell someone you love him or her.

The kits were heat embossed using white embossing powder.  The tails of the kits were made witha  white gel pen.  I did try to use the tails in the stamp set, but I was able to get more of the look I wanted by free handing them.  The tiny hearts were punched out using the Owl Builder punch.  The sentiment is pop dotted for a bit more dimension.

Cardstock: Real Red, Whisper White, Pink Pirouette
Ink:  Verssamark Embossing Ink, Real Red
Stamp Sets: Swirly Bird, Thoughtful Banners
Punches: Owl Builder,  Duet Banner
Other:  Rhinestones, white embossing powder

Be sure to come back tomorrow for another project -- and I promise to use a different stamp set!!

I'd love to hear your thoughts on the Swirly Bird stamp set!

Day 5 of 30 Days of New Catalog Projects

Welcome back to another day of new catalog projects.  Once again, today's project is using the Swirly Birds stamp set.  I was going to showcase a different set, but then I ended up making this card for the  Freshly Made Sketches challenge (check it out here).  As soon as I saw this week's sketch, this card came right to my mind.

Here's the sketch:

I modified it a bit and came up with this:

I used the triple layer stamping technique on this card.  Basically, you cut  out the three white pieces that you will be stamping on and, with temporary adhesive, attach them to each other and stamp your images, being sure to have some images overlap on the cut pieces.  After the stamping is done, take the three pieces apart and mount them onto the layering cardstock.  Assemble the card, and it all lines up seamlessly.

Cardstock:  Calypso Coral, Marina Mist, Whisper  White
Ink: Calypso Coral, Pool Party, Soft Sky
Stamp Sets: Swirly Bird, Sprinkles of Life, Thoughtful Banners

I really like this technique, don't you?  Be sure to come back tomorrow for another project!

Day 4 of 30 Days of New Catalog Projects

I know I've been showcasing the Swirly Bird stamp set a lot, but I just LOVE this set.  I really didn't think much of it when I first saw it, but I'm really having a good time playing with it.

I made this card for a demo swap last month. Although there were lots of steps to this, I really like the end result.

I randomly stamped the spotted background with the "blob" stamp from the set as well as the stems directly on the card front.

To make the flowers, I stamped the solid stamp and then the swirled stamp (two step stamping).  They were die cut with one of the dies from the coordinating dies from the Swirly Scribbles.  The leaves were stamped onto scrap card stock and then die cut.  Both the flowers and the leaves are pop dotted up.

The sentiment is from the Thoughtful Banners set punched out with the coordinating Duet Banner punch.  It is pop dotted as well.

Cardstock:  Flirty Flamingo, Whisper White
Ink:  Blushing Bride, Flirty Flamingo, Emerald Envy
Stamp Set: Swirly Bird, Thoughtful Banners
Thinlits:  Swirly Scribbles
Punch: Duet Banner.

Be sure to check back tomorrow for Day 4's project!

30 Days of the New Catalog - Day 3: New Baby

It's Day 3 of the 30 Days of the New Catalog.  Again, this card is made with the Swirly Bird stamp set.

This was made for a coworker who is expecting a new baby boy any day now.  I'll be ready when he arrives!  I know  I  say this a lot, but this card truly was a breeze to  make.

The white layer is embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  The little birds are stamped in So Saffron, and their little feet are stamped in Peekaboo Peach.  The sentiment is stamped in Marina Mist.  The ribbon is some old SU ribbon that I had in my stash.

Cardstock:  Marina Mist, Whisper White
Ink: So Saffron, Peekaboo Peach, Marina Mist
Stamp  Sets:  Swirly Bird, Something to Say (retired)
Embossing Folder:  Perfect Polka Dots (retired)

Check back tomorrow for another project using some new products!

30 Days of the New Catalog - Day 2: Swirly Bird Flowers

Today's project features the Swirly Bird stamp set -- I just keep finding things to do with this set!  The card was inspired by the Global Designs Project Sketch Challenge.  This is the first time I did the GDP challenge, but a browse around their blog tells me it won't be the last!

This is the sketch (#GDP038) for my inspiration.  I flipped it on its side so it worked better with my design.
This is my final product.

The card has mostly with all new product from the new catalog.

Cardstock:  Thick Whisper White, Whisper White, Basic Black, Blushing Bride, Sweet Sugarplum, Emerald Eny
DSP :  Playful Pallette
Ink:  Blushin Bride, Emerald Eny, Sweet Sugarplum
Stamp Sets: Swirly Bird, Thoughtful Banners
Punch:  Duet Banner
Thinlit:  Swirly Scribbles

The card base is the DSP with tiny strips of Basic  Black.  The card front is Whisper White stamped with the "blob" stamp from Swirly Bird in Blushing Bride.
The flowers were made by stamping the circle from the Swirly Bird set in Blushing Bride and Sweet Sugarplum.  Then I die cut the swirls out of the coordinating card stock and attached it over the stamped image. I added a few rhinestones just to bling it up a bit.
The leaves were made by stamping the veins in Emerald Envy onto coordinating card stock and then die cutting them out.
The sentiment comes from the Thoughtful Banners set.  The banner is stamped in Emerald Envy, and the sentiment is stamped in Sweet Sugarplum.  Then it was punched out with the coordinating Duet Banner punch

Although there were a lot of steps to this, it really did go together pretty quickly and easily.

Check back tomorrow for Day 3 of the new catalog!

June Blogging Friends Blog Hop - The New Catalog is Here!!

Welcome to the June Blogging Friends Blog Hop. This month, we are featuring some of the products from the new Annual Catalog.  The new catalog goes live today, and you are going to LOVE it!  There are tons of great new products, and the new In-Colors are so cheery (and they have great names)! So, sit back, relax and enjoy the hop!  To celebrate the new catalog, I will be posting one project per day featuring something new each day-- ink colors, paper, stamp, accessory, etc.  Be sure to check back daily!

Since today is our monthly blog hop, I'm posting three projects that all showcase the Swirly Bird stamp set and the coordinating thinlit set, Swirly Scribbles.  The stamp set has 24 stamps, and the thinlit set has 9 dies. The stamp set and thinlit set can be purchased separately, but they are also available as a bundle at a 10% discount.

I'll be totally honest with you -- when I first saw this stamp set, I was not thrilled with it at all! I included it in my pre-order because I needed an additional stamp set to showcase at my upcoming catalog reveal party.  When it arrived, I kept looking at it, totally stumped, thinking that I would surely be returning it.  Boy was I WRONG!  I propped the stamp set up on my table and stopped to look at it every time I walked by it, hoping that inspiration would strike me.  Soon enough, I was flooded with ideas and now I can honestly say that I am really glad I decided to keep this set!

There is just so much fun in this set -- flowers, leaves, a boat, a bird --with little feet and even eggs!  The coordinating thinlits make this an even more versatile set.

I decided to use the boat for this first card:

The sailboat was made using four of the stamps -- the boat, both of the sails, and the tiny flag on the top.  The boat is stamped using a stamped-off Basic  Black, and the sails are stamped in Real Red -- the striped sail full strength, and the solid one stamped off.  The flag on the boat is stamped in the new In-Color Dapper Denim (which I LOVE!).

I made the waves by stamping the flower stem from the set horizontally alternating in full strength and stamped off using Dapper Denim.  Then I did the same with the "blobs" stamp.  The sun is also from this set stamped in Daffodil Delight.

I fussy cut the sailboat and popped it up on the card.  Isn't this a fun little card?

Cardstock:  Thick Whisper White, Dapper Denim, Whisper White
Ink:  Real Red, Dapper  Denim, Daffodil Delight
Stamp Set:  Swirly Birds

This second card was fun to make, although there was a lot of die cutting involved!

The brown branches of the vine were made with the wavy thinlit cut out in Soft Suede.  The flowers and leaves were stamped in two of the new In Colors -- Flirty Flamingo and Emerald  Envy.  They were die cut using the coordinating flower and leaf thinlit.  The sentiment was stamped in Flirty Flamingo using the Balloon Celebration set.  I added a dollop of Dazzling Diamonds in the center of each flower for a little bit of glitz.

Cardstock:  Flirty Flamingo, Whisper White, Soft Suede
Ink:  Flirty Flamingo, Emerald Envy
Stamp Set:  Swirly Bird
Thinlit: Swirly Scribbles

This last project is a set of four note cards that I'll be giving away as one of the prizes at my catalog kickoff event in a couple weeks.

These cards were pretty easy to put together.  First I randomly stamped the flower and then I went back and added the leaves.   To make the leaves, I stamped them with Emerald Envy -- stamping off first, then I added the veins using Emerald Envy full strength.  Voila!

Card stock:  Sweet Sugarplum, Whisper White
Ink:  Sweet Sugarplum, Emerald Envy
Stamp Set:  Swirly Bird
