Day 31 of Holiday Cards in October

Where did the month go?  I can't believe this is the last card of the Holiday Cards in October series.  It seems like I just started.  I'm excited because I now have 31 holiday cards ready to be mailed!

Today's card is a New Year's card that I really enjoyed making.  I especially love the little champagne flutes.  I stamped them from the Mixed Drinks set and then cut out tiny pieces of Gold Glimmer paper to make the "bubbly".  I fussy cut the flutes out and popped them up.  The "2017" was made with die cuts from the Large Numbers framelits.  The card base is Delightful Dijon; the next layer is Whisper White; the next layer is Smokey Slate, and the card front is vellum embossed with Softly Falling.  Love it!

I hope you've enjoyed these holiday cards and that you will try one or more of them for your holiday card giving this year!

Day 30 of Holiday Cards in October - Happy New Year!

These last two days of the Holiday Cards in October series will feature New  Year's card.  This first one is full of sparkle with washi tape, silver embosing powder and glitter embossing powder.

Although lots of supplies were used, the card was pretty simple to put together. Although the picture doesn't show it really well, the silver balloons are embossed with silver embossing powder and they have a great shine to them.  The red balloons are embossed with Real Red Glitter Embossing powder, and they really sparkly nicely.  The banner is also embosssed with silver embossing powder.  Of course, the most sparkle comes from the silver glitter washi tape alongthe sides of the card.

Days 28 and 29 of Holiday Cards in October

Oops, once again I'm late with one of my posts.  I had a really hectic work week and when I got home last night, I decided to unwind with some takeout and a nice glass of wine and forgot to post!  So . . . here are two days worth of posts.  These are still in the  Greetings from Santa series, but they're so totally different.

Day 28:  Naughty or Nice

This card has four layers.  The base is Thick Whisper White; then the middle layer is Real Red; the next layer is the card front in Whisper White; and ten the die cut fron the Detailed Sants thinlits.  I also die but the decorative details on the top and bottom of the card to fill int he space.  I ran a small piece of Real Red through the thinlits and placed it in the open spot of the hat.  Finally, I stamped the sentimen directly on to the card front and the list onto a piece of scrap which I fussy cut  out and popped up for some dimension.  The beard and fur are all covered with Clear Wink of Stella, but you can't see the sparkle in the picture.  It really does give it a nice finish.

Day 29 - Greetings from the North Pole

This card only uses the stamp set, and it's got a completely different feel than the other two.  It's more rustic and woodsy.  The card base is Soft Suede.  The DSP is from the retired Candlelight Christmas.  I stamped the reindeer onto some Very Vanilla that was mounted onto Garden Green and then onto more Very Vanills.  The deer were stamped in Chocolate Chip because I needed something dark enough to go over the stamped trees (second generation Garden Green). The snow flakes were  heat embossed with white embosing powder, and the sentiment was heat embossed using clear embosssing powder  The final tough -- the ribbon -- is some retired Chocolate Chip I had in my stash.

Day 27 of Holiday Cards in October with Santa!

The next series of cards will all use the Greetings from Santa Bundle, which includes the Greetings from Santa stamp set and the Detailed Santas thinlits.

For this first card I was trying to make Santa appear like he was coming down the chimney.  The santa die cut is popped up and layered on top of cardstock that was embossed using the Brick Wall embossing folder which was inked up with  Cajun Craze ink.  You can't see it in the picture, but Santa's beard, mustache and the  fur on  his hat are all covered with Wink of Stella, and they sparkle. The sentiment is embossed with clear embossing powder.

So, what do you think?  Does Sasnta look like he's coming down the chimney?

Day 25 of Holiday Cards in October with Embellished Ornaments

The next set of cards will be made using the beautiful Embellished Ornaments stamp set.  I must  admit that I've had this for over a year and this is the first time I've used it.  I don't know why it took me so long, but I am positive it will be getting LOTS of use!  I guess I was on an embossing kick since every element of this card is heat embossed!  I like the subtle effect the three layers gives this card -- the base is Whiser White Thick, the middle layer is Crumb Cake, and the front is Real Red.

I decided to use the new Copper embossing powder for thee ornament and the sentiment.  for the greenery I used a retired embossing powder - Sage.  I have so many containers of embosing powder in my stash, so I guess I better use it up to make room for more! The top of the ornament was die cut with the coordinating Delicate Ornaents thinlits.  I cut it from Crumb Cake and then applied a layer of Wink of Stella on it.  I wanted the berries on the greenery to pop somehow, but when I added red dots to them, they didn't look right so I decided to go with some rhinestones -- you can never use too much bling!

Day 24 of Holiday Cards in October

Today's card is a bit rustic.  I just HAD to use the Wondrous Wreath set for this series.  I find that you either love it, or you don't -- and I do.  It's a bit tricky to line up at first, but once you figure it out, it's easy peasy!

The card base is embossed with the Woodgrain folder and lightly sponged with Soft Suede.  The "Joy" is die cut from the coordinating Wonderful Wreath thinlits.  I added a bit of Wink of Stella to it and to the wreath for a bit of shine.  To make the berries, I applied some Wink of Stella to a scrap piece of Real Red cardstock and punched out the tiny circles with a 1/8" hole punch.  A bit tedious and time consuming, but well worth the effort!

Day 23 of Holiday Cards in October

This is the last project using the Snow Place stamp set.  The Woodland Embossing Folder adds a special feeling to the card.

The embossing folder was inked with Soft Sky ink to get the inked background effect.  The snow on the bottom of the card was made by tearing some Whisper White cardsock and running some Wink of Stella along the torn edges for some snowy shimmer.  The blue in the background was also brushed over with Link of Stella for a shimmery look.  Don't they look so happy to be out in the snow!?

Day 22 of Holiday Cards in October (a day late - again!)

This project uses the Snow Place stamp set.  I was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest. Of course, I changed a few things and made it my own!

The background is stamped with the background stamp, Diagonal Stripes. All of the penguins' accessories are popped up for some dimension. A bit time consuming with all the die cutting, but I really like the cheeriness of this card.  All the colors are in the Brights Collection, so they're all nicely coordinated.

Day 21 of Holiday Cards in October

Today's holiday card features the Snow Place Stamp Set and the coordinating Snow Friends framelits.   This cute litle snowman is one of my favorites!

The background is embossed with the Softly Falling embossing folder.  Since I wanted a lot of snowflakes on the entire background, I embossed two small pieces of paper and then placed one on the top and the other on the bottom to achieve that look.  The inside panel is stamped wih the Flurry of Wishes set and embossed with white embossing folder.  The red berries on the snowman's hat are made with Ruby Red Liquid Pearls (non SU).   Lots of steps, but I just love it!

Day 20 of Holiday Cards in October AND Monthly ATC

Today's projects each use the same framelit -- the VERY versatile Swirly Scribbles thinlits.

The first project is a holiday card.  I used the three circles from the thinlit set to form the snowman.  For the middle one, I snipped off the little tags that look like little leaves.  The snowman is dressed using the hat and scarf from the Snow Place/Snow Friends bundle.  The sentiment is from the Watercolor Winter Too set (retired).  I used Dazzling Details (Cherry Cobbler for the holly berries on the hat; although it is retired, you could always use Stickles (non SU)

This month's monthly ATC is also made using the Swirly Scribbles thinlits.   The theme was Thanksgiing, so I made a Fall "door" wreath.  I used middle circle and left the little leaves on it so it would look like a wreath.  I stamped the leaves using the Swirly Bird stamp set and die cut them with the coordinating framelit in the Swirly Scribbles set.  The background is embossed with the Brick Wall Embossing Folder -- I was going for the look of a wreath hanging on a brick wall.  I lightly sponged the bricks with Cajun Craze ink.

Day 19 of Holiday Cards in October

Today's project is another one using the Hearth and Home Framelit.  It's another window, but not a window card this time!

Yesterday's windo was from the inside looking out, and this one is from the outside looking in.  The "outside" is a brick wall embossed with the brick embossing folder which was sponged lightly with white ink.   The window has a "wreath" hanging from it.  The polka dots are supposed to be draperies hanging on the "inside".

Hearth and Home Window Card

Today's card is a simple window using the Hearth and Home framelits.

The front wintod was cut out by positioning one of the square framelits so it was the same size of the window.  The inside scene was made by sponging Soft Sky and Old Olive and then stamping the tree in Garden Green.  I embossed some snowflakes with white embossing powder.

Although this card took quite a few products and was a bit labor intensive, I like the way it turned out.

Check back tomorrow for another Hearth and Home project!

Day 17 of Holiday Cards in October

Today's post is the last one using the Work of Art stamp set. I just thought this one was so whimisical, and as a bonus, it came together super quickly.

The tree is made with the Work of Art set, and the sentiment comes from the Wondrous Wreath set.  I punched thes star from Gold Foil Paper using the tiny star from the retired Tiny Accents Trio.

Day 16 of Holiday Cards in October

Today's post is another card using the Work of  Art Stamp set.  I saw a couple versions of this on Pinterest last year but never got around to making it, so I was sure to incorporate it into my holiday cards this year.  I think it's just so cute!

So easy, peasy to make.  The holly in the snowman's hat was made from the Snow Place set and die cut using the coordinating Snow Friends framelits.

Day 15 of Holiday Cards in October

Today begins the series of holiday cards using the Work of Art stamp set. I really had fun with this set.  I went with a soft background and a deep embossed tree for this design.  I thought the contast really made the tree pop.  To make the background I used two colors - Pool Party and Soft Sky.  Soft Sky is towards the top -- the first three; they're in different generations to get the lighter and darker shades.  The bottom three are Pool Party -- again in different generations for the varying shades.  The gold "ornaments" on the tree are dots of Gold  Dazzling Detail.  The sentiment is from Snow Place

Day 13 and 14 of Holiday Cards in October

Today's cards are Days 13 and 14 of Holiday Cards in October.  For  these projects, I made two Hanukkah cards.   This first one is a bright an sparkly one.  It as inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest.

The card front embossing folder is Lattice (retired).  The flames are hearts punched from the Accents Trio punch (retired) and cut in half.  The half circles are made using the Circles Framelits (retired), but  they could be done with the newer Layering Circles.  The sentiment is from the very retired Jewish Sayings set. mounted on a label punched with the Decorative Label punch.

Product List

This next card has a more contemporary feel and is made using mostly products (that we all have!) The candles were made using the word window punch (retired) and the flame is from the retired Blossom Builder Punch.  I added a bit of Wink of Stella to give the flames some sparkel. The sentiment is from the Jewish Saying set punched from the retired tag punch.  The card front is embossed with the perfect polka dots folder.
