Monthly Inspiration - Here's to Cheers/Cheerful Tags Bundle

For this month’s inspiration projects, I decided to use the new Here’s to Cheers stamp set and coordinating Cheerful Tags Framelits.  This bundle isn’t really exciting, but boy is it a must-have.  How many of us go to someone’s home and bring a bottle of wine or a baked bread?  Lots, I’m sure!  Well, now you can present those items with a beautiful handmade tag.

I chose to make these Christmas tags, but they would be great for any occasion!

This month’s projects do not have instructions as they are quite obvious, but I have included a product list for each project.  The project page is available as a download at the end of the post.

Lovin' these Ombre Ink Pads!

This is another card made using the new Ombre Ink Pads.  This one is so simple -- literally just a swipe of the inkpad and some embossing!

I simple swiped the black ombre ink pad across a piece of whisper white cardstock to get the cook background. The truck is from the Country Livin' set, and it is embossed with black embossing powder.  The sentiment is from the Guy Greetings set and is mounted on strips of paper punched with the banner triple punch.

I'm So Excited . . .

I'm so excited to have one of my holiday cards included in an article on one of my favorite websites,  The article was a Top Ten of Holiday Cards, and I was No 8.  The talent displayed on is just amazing, and I am so humbled to be among them!  Check out the article here.

This is the card they featured.  It was originally posted on my blog on October 15 as part of my 31 Days of Holiday Cards in October series.  See the original post here

I encourage you to check out for some great inspiration!

Ombre Dahlia

This card is one that we made at a recent card class featuring the new Ombre Inks.  The inks are just great, and they add such a nice look to projects. They do take a bit of practice though -- knowing how to stamp large images, etc.

Ombre inks are a series of shades of the same colors going from light to dark (or dark to light depending on how you hold the stamp pad).  This card is a monochromatic card made using the Rich Razzleberry Ombre ink pad.  I held the stamp pad with the lighter shade at the top.  Since the stamp was pretty  much the same size as the stamp pad, it didn't take too much technique to apply the ink.  One thing you do not want to do with the ombre inks is to  apply the ink to the stamp as you do with regular ink pads.  That would result in "lines" in the image.  You need to move it around so that the ink pad is "doing the cha-cha" across the ink pad.  I encourage you to look up some videos on You Tube to see the Ombre inking technique.  (Some one of these days I'll post videos, too!)

What do you think about the ombre inks??

November Blogging Friends Blog Hop -- It's Lovely (as a Tree)

It's the first of the month, so that means its time for a Blogging Friends Blog Hop, and I welcome you!

If you are new to the blog, we are a group of Stampin' Up demonstrators from all over the  country and Canada who share a love of paper crafting.  Our blog hop happens monthly on the 1st and the hops are always LOADED with great projects and inspiration.  If you are unfamiliar with blog hops, here's how they work:  At the bottom of my post, you will see an image to continue on to the next blog which will take you directly there.  There is also a list of all the participants and their blog links.

If this is your first visit to my site - Welcome!  Be sure to subscribe using the box on the right side of your screen. You can subscribe either by email (you will get an email notification every time there is a new post), or you can subscribe by clicking on "follow".  If you have a moment, I'd love for you to leave a comment below.  I love hearing from everyone!

This month's theme for the blog hop is to share projects using the stamp set Lovely as a Tree.  This set is the oldest of Stampin' Up!'s stamp sets, and it' not surprise that it has been around for such a long time (10+ years) -- it's just a beautiful, or should I say "lovely" set!

The first card I made is a window card.  I seem to be making quite a few of those these days. They're just so cool and easy to make!  It doesn't show up on the pictures, but I covered the tree leaves with Wink of Stella  for a bit of sparkle.  The tiny tan pearls are not SU.

The second card is a simple embossed Christmas Card.  I liked the contrast betwent the Night of Nay and the Whisper White mat and silver embossing.

My last card is a sympathy card using the new Copper Embossing Powder.  It doesn't show up at all in the picture, but it is just a stunning look.  The background on the card is a very retired Just Jeans background stamp.  I just love the texture of it.  The sentiment is also embossed and is from the Thoughts and Prayers set.
