Remarkably You Sympathy Card

I recently had to make a sympathy card for a male acquaintance, and this is what I came up with.  I really, really wanted to tie a ribbon around it or spruce it up somehow but, because it was for a man, I had to refrain.  I still like the way it came out though.  I especially like the thin layer of black between the card front and the card base.

Masculine Cardigan Birthday Card

I just love this sweater card!  It was super simple to put together and there was no stamping involved!
I've included a video to show you how it all came together.  The list of products is also included at the bottom of the post.  I hope you'll give this a try . . . it's become one of my favorites!

A little something cute . . .

This is a card I made for the parents of a new adorable little boy!  I used the Something for Baby set and did a bit of heat embossing to give the card some dimension.

The card base is Marina Mist, and the card front is Whisper White.  I used the Layering Squares to make the four squares.  Each square has one image from the stamp set which is die cut using the coordinating Baby's First framelits -- the duck is embossed with Crushed Curry embossing powder; the bib is stamped in Pool Party, and the little heart is embossed with blushing bride embossing powder (I used some embroidery floss to make the bib ties); the booties are embosssed with some very old embossing powder, simply labeled "light blue"; and the safety pin is embossed with silver embossing powder.  the sentiment is also from the Something for Baby set.   I didn't take a picture of the inside of the card, but it says "for your cute little someone."  Even with all the heat embossing, this card came together pretty easily.  The parents liked the card just as much as, if not more than, the present!!

Pop Up Balloons Birthday Card that Doesn't Pop!

Part of the beauty of the new Pop Up  Balloons Die Set is that you can also use the great balloon die to make an embellishment on a card that doesn't pop.  In this card, I used the balloon die to make a card front (see this post for a card using it as a pop up -- it's down towards the end of the post).

This was a quick card to put together.  I die cut the balloon in Very Vanills and trimmed the border around it to fit my card front.  Then I mounted it on a piece of DSP from a retired stack, Cherry on Top.  I die cut the balloons from the dies in the set, as well as the bow.  Finally, I stamped the sentiment and the banner and then mounted it all on the card front.

Being able to use the pop up die in both ways makes it a great buy!

It's Your Birthday . . .

Everytime I use this sentiment from the Balloon Advenures set, I break out in song!  This is one of the cards we made at class this weekend.  We got lots of exercise with all the die cutting and embossing, but it was well worth it!

The three presents were made with theal Balloon Pop Up Thinits, as were the bows.  Then each present was embossed using Perfect Polka Dots (retired), Stripes, and Lucky Stars.  It's important to die cut the present shape before embossing the paper.  If you emboss first and then die cut, you will flatten the embossed image.  The next step was to stamp the sentiment and die cut that with the Stitched Shapes framelits (which is becoming one of my favorite dies!)  The last step is to assemble it.

As always, I'm happy to answer any questions you have about this project or any other Stampin' Up! question.

Owl Birthday Balloons

I made this card for a customer's birthday.  She loves owls, so I thought the Owl Builder punch would be perfect for her card!

Some of the products are retired (the DSP  and the Coastal Cabana cardstock), but I used them anyway because . . . well . . . because I have it and I like it!!   I really like the pop of color from the Real Red; don't you?
