Baby It's Cold Outside!

Happy New Year!

It's the first of the month, so that means it's time for a Blogging Friends Blog Hop, and I welcome you!   If you are new to the blog, we are a group of Stampin' Up demonstrators from all over the  country and Canada who share a love of paper crafting.  Our blog hop happens monthly on the 1st of the month, and the hops are always LOADED with great projects and inspiration.  I invite you to "hop" from one blog to the next to see all the great projects!  Links to all the other blogs are at the bottom of this post.

If this is your first visit to my site - Welcome!  Please be sure to click on the "Newsletter" tab above to be put on my mailing list to receive notices of sales and promotions as well as to receive monthly  tutorials.  If you have a moment, I'd love for you to leave a comment below.  I love hearing from visitors!

Now, onto the hop. . . This month's theme was "Baby It's Cold Outside", and it sure is here in Massachusetts.  We've been having quite the cold spell, so this theme resonated true with me.  What better way to keep warm than with a cable knit hat and mittens!.  I used the Smitten Mitten bundle, which was introduced in the Holiday catalog and which will be carrying over.  I used this bundle a lot this winter, so I guess I really liked it!

The hat was embossed using the Cable Knit Dynamic Embossing Folder.  The pom pom is made using the new 1 1/8" scallop circle punch.  The ribbing is die cut from the Many Mittens framelits.  Both the pom pom and the ribbing have a bit of Wink of Stella on them (although it doesn't show up in the picture).

The mittens were also embossed using the Cable Knit Dynamic Embossing Folder.  The ribbing on them was die cut with the Many Mitten framelits and brushed with Wink of Stella.  I added some tiny pearls on cuffs for a touch of bling.

The sentiment and the row of "x"s were heat embossed using White Embossing powder.  It just added a little more dimension to the card.
